It was late at night at Laventon Hotel when a knock broke the silence outside Zion's room.
When he opened the door, Madison stood there with her face pale and streaked with tears.
Zion frowned.
His instinct was to slam the door shut, but Madison quickly placed her hand on the door before he could.

"Mr. Spencer! I need to speak with you!" Madison's voice was trembling with urgency.
"We have nothing to talk about," Zion replied. He showed no intention of sympathizing with her and made another attempt to close the door.

Zion cast a cold glance at her. He didn't recall ever saving her before.
