Carroll sighed helplessly. "I have a surprise for you, but you wish me dead. Forget it."

I quickly put my palms under my chin and blinked at Carroll.

Out of curiosity, I ran to the door and saw a snow-white wolf.
Its furry head held high, and its pink and tender tongue was out. It wagged its tail like mad.
"Wolfie, why are you back? Did someone bully you on the mountain?" I squatted down and held Wolfie in my arms.
"Ow woo!" Wolfie let out an excited howl.
