Chapter 156
Mark reached into a pouch to get his charms.
However, he couldn't find them.
He calmly cleared his throat. "That bridesmaid was your best friend. She became your bridesmaid and wished for your happiness but lost her life on your wedding day. Yet, you feel no remorse and even want to exorcise her? No wonder she tried to strangle you to death," Mark said to Maddison.
"You should always act in good conscience. Don't assume that the things you have done will go unseen. God is always watching and will punish or reward us accordingly. It is only a matter of time."
Mark turned to Clyde and said, "Mr. Clay, my apprentice says that the bridesmaid's grudge is too great. This can't be handled overnight. We will require more time."
Then, he opened his pouch and pulled a smaller red pouch from it. He took out multiple charms from the red pouch and gave them to Clyde. They were folded into triangular shapes.
"Hold onto these charms for now. They can keep you safe temporarily," he explained.
