Lucille responded in a cute manner.
No one noticed that before Charles spoke, a faint black light flashed in the necklace he was wearing.
Since the necklace pendant was hidden in his clothes, nobody saw it.
Even Charles himself didn't notice.
He just felt that a small part of his memory seemed to be fuzzy, but he couldn't remember what exactly it was.
The only time he felt clear-headed was when he looked at Zoey. All he could think of was that he had to protect her and obey her.
Those commands and beliefs seemed to be engraved into his bones. He didn't need to think or hesitate at all. It had become instinct.
Charles shook his head, and the sense of loss quickly disappeared. The next second, his face was filled with a brilliant and doting smile.
"Zoey, what would you like to eat for dinner?"
"Anything?"
"Anything."
"Great! I want to eat Western food made by the top chef of a seven-star hotel! It is said that the chef only cooks ten dishes a day. I have never eaten it before."
