Melanie had just finished tidying Lily's desk when a woman approached.
"Excuse me, Madam, I think you're in the wrong seat. This is my daughter's seat," Susan said gracefully, smiling brightly. She had never met Melanie before and didn't know she was Mrs. Laurier.
Melanie glanced up at Susan, leaning back in her chair with grace. "I'm in the right seat," she replied.
Melanie knew Susan. She had seen photos of her while investigating the Martinez family before this. She didn't like Susan.
A woman who could abandon her newborn child and constantly exploit her daughter for her own gain was someone she couldn't stand.
Susan paused for a moment, taken aback. "This is Lily's seat. She's my daughter. Who are you?"
Susan was aware of the upper-class families at Ember Creek High School and didn't dare to be rude to anyone. Besides, she always maintained an elegant and refined demeanor in public. She had to keep up appearances.
