Chapter Eighty-Three - Willow
The next morning Chase’s side of the bed was empty.
I figured he’d been unable to sleep most of the morning because the courts arrived soon. I got dressed and found myself in the dining hall. There was an unnaturally quiet demeanor to most of the pack.
I didn’t blame them. If I’d heard my Luna had been chased through the woods by a monster, I would have been nervous too.
I walked my steak and eggs to Chase’s office where I found him meeting with my dad and Rex.
They hardly looked up at me when I walked in. “Are you hungry?” I asked Chase.
“I’ve already eaten,” he said, looking down at a notepad between them.
I sat down on the couch and began to eat.
“We have no proof,” Rex said. “How are we going to prove anything? All we have are our three testimonies. Your Willow’s mate and I’m your best friend. It’s
going to look bad.”
Chase sat back in his chair and rubbed his jaw. “Do you have any fresh marks that didn’t heal?” he asked me.
