Makenna's POV.
The car ride to Le Train Bleu was enveloped in a serene silence, only interrupted by the soft hum of the Parisian streets outside. I glanced over at Wolfe, his gaze distant, lost in thought. His hand rested in his pocket, fingers fidgeting oddly. The sight of him so introspective tugged at my heart. I reached over and placed my hand on his other one, breaking his reverie.
He looked at me, his eyes softening. “What are you thinking about?”
I smiled, squeezing his hand gently. “Your mom. She’s really cool, you know.”
Wolfe chuckled, his lips curling into a fond smile. “What did she talk to you about?”
I grinned, leaning back in my seat. “Oh, just some childhood stories about a certain little Wolfe.”
He groaned, covering his face with his free hand. “What exactly did she say?”
I laughed at his embarrassment. “Well, let’s see. She told me about the time you tried to run away from home because you didn't want to take a bath.”
