'What birthmarks?'
Considering her current state, Cole felt confused and uncertain about the credibility of Joan's words.
Joan pointed to Tinkerbell and Pixie's necks in the photo and then to her own neck. Her eyes were clear, and her expression was gentle as she spoke. "The kids you sent had birthmarks here. They don't have them."
"You're saying the kids I sent had birthmarks?" he questioned.
"Yes," Joan whispered. "Every child sent to the welfare home gets thoroughly checked from head to toe. It's proof for reuniting with their real parents someday."
Hearing Joan, Cole swiftly fetched his phone and opened the cloud album. He often changed phones due to work but not because of phone quality.
Work made his phone fill up fast. He couldn't delete work content; he might need it later. This included chats, files, and photos.
