After holding in her sadness all day, Lainey finally found a way to vent it. She cried miserably in Elvira's arms, tears and snot flowing together. She was as heartbroken as could be. Her heart ached. It was the kind of pain that felt like someone had dug a piece out of her heart. It wasn't intense, but it reached deep into her bones. At the thought of Winfred embracing that woman, Lainey couldn't control her tears. "Juliet made delicious clam chowder at home. I wanted to bring it to him. So I went to his company and wanted to surprise him. But... Boohoo..." Lainey sobbed uncontrollably, gasping for breath. "Elvira, do you understand how it feels to be betrayed by someone?"
