Caden nudged Aiden with his elbow as they strolled away from the family rendezvous point. "Alright, grouch, what do you actually want to do?"
Aiden, ever the contrarian, shrugged. "Not sure. Laser tag sounds lame."
Caden rolled his eyes. "Seriously? It's not like you have a date lined up, Mr. Antisocial."
Aiden's cheeks flushed a faint pink. "Whatever. How about that basketball court over there? The winner gets bragging rights for the month."
Caden smirked. "Challenge accepted, little brother. "But don't cry like a baby when I teach you."
They strutted over to the court, a mismatched pair: Caden, with all his lean limbs and a goofy grin, and Aiden, with a brooding expression that hid a surprising athleticism. Their initial shots were predictably rusty, rattling off the rim with more effort than finesse.
"Man, I haven't shot a hoop in ages," Caden huffed, wiping sweat from his brow.
"Maybe that's why you're so bad," Aiden quipped, finally sinking a smooth three-pointer.
