Rachel had invited her friend Juliet over. Juliet was the one person in the street who knew everything about everybody, and she didn't hesitate to go around spilling what she knew.
"So, are you going to tell me about the kid that's been living with you and Eddy?" Juliet moved closer to Rachel with a mischievous glean.
"He's a kid that Eddy found on the streets a couple of nights ago; they are both working at the construction."
"Oh, so that's about it." Juliette looked disappointed. "And here I was thinking there was a juicier story to it."
"There's nothing juicy about some randomly chosen stranger in my house." Rachel snapped.
Juliet took a bite of her sandwich. "You definitely don't sound glad that the kid's staying with you."
