They all silently walked towards the building where the boys said they had seen Emerald and the lady walk into.

"No," Madison said, cutting Corazon's words off, "it wasn't your fault, Corazon; please don't blame yourself." Isabella added. Her voice sounded so far away, even to her ears.
Everyone else's mind was worried, and Madison's was, too, but it wasn't just because Emerald was missing. There was also the snagging suspicion of who the lady might be and if her hunch was right. She would be consumed with so much guilt for not telling Isabella earlier.

"Should we go in, or should we get the authorities?" Jamie asked as they all stopped moving.
