The court was filled to the brim with spectators, counsels, media personnel, the jury, and the judge. The proceedings were slated for 10:00 a.m. sharp, but the court's front yard was filled with people as early as 6:00 a.m. Madison, Isabella, and Luke couldn't sleep all night. The stakes were high for them, and so was their blood pressure. The case was fifty-fifty; Ethan was either going to jail that day or going home with them. There was also the chance that the trial would be moved to be decided on another day. Madison tossed and turned around the bed all night, caramel's words replaying in her head. What if Ethan goes to prison? Why was he willing to reveal where he was that night? She pooped three pills of Advil in her mouth and drank a jug of water, followed by a jug of apple juice and numerous visits to the bathroom. Luke had called the lawyer, asking him about the chances of Ethan's incarceration or freedom, and he told him to pray. A lawyer wouldn't tell you to pray if your
