SUZIE’S POV
The tension in the room was palpable, and the air seemed to stiffen as time went by. I held a pen in my hand, tapping it down on the table as anxiety rose within my chest. The room felt suffocating, but I needed to hold out.
This meeting was going to be an important one.
“Are you sure this is going to work?” Elliot asked, his voice resonating through the air, dissipating the silence.
I turned to him, and he was seated on one of the sofas, tapping his legs on the floor and biting his nails. I stifled a chuckle at the sight. I had never seen Elliot nervous, and it was truly an amusing sight to behold.
“Don’t you trust me Elliot?” I asked, placing my chin over my clasped hands.
“That’s not it,” Elliot sighed, “You know how Alpha Chris is. He’s unreasonable and I don’t think he will agree to this at all.”
I shrugged, tilted my head to the side, with a grin on my lips. “We will never know until we try, yeah?”
