Chapter Thirty
Roan
Roan was up with the birds the next morning. It’d been hard to leave Sullen sleeping, while he went to take a shower. She’d done a great job at calming his nerves the night before.
He’d always heard that mates were good about that, but he hadn’t realized how good.
He got dressed, and left a note for Sullen on the bathroom door. She looked like she needed the rest, and frankly, he needed to get the day going.
Jacob waited for him outside of the infirmary that would lead them to the rogues. “Any news?” he asked.
Jacob shrugged, and braced his interlaced fingers behind his head. “Nope. Still not talking.”
Roan jogged down the stairs toward their prisoners.
Most were still sleeping except the one they caught first. His gaze was red-rimmed, and his face stoic.
“Well, if the alpha himself hasn’t decided to grace us with his presence,” he said, leaning his head back against the brick wall.
