In a private room of the quiet teahouse, Emmie’s gaze was dark. She stared at the light-colored petals floating in the transparent teapot with a cold expression.
She was thinking about what she had heard outside the office when she suddenly chuckled.
“What are you laughing at?” Martin took the teapot and poured a cup of tea for her. Its aroma slowly came out from the light green teacup, and it had a refreshing feeling.
Emmie rubbed the wall of the cup with her hands. Her complexion looked pale. “Nothing.”
The teacup knocked on the square wooden table and made a deep sound. Martin coughed a little before he thought for a while and said, “You’ve changed a lot after all these years.”
“Yes?” Emmie seemed to not understand his words. She lifted her teacup, took a sip, and looked over. “How did I change?”
Martin pursed his lips. He chuckled, but did not say anything. He just advised, “Roman Saul isn't worth it.”
