CHAPTER SIX HUNDRED AND TWENTY THREE – LOOKING IN THE CASE
Hours later, Jasmine stood in front of a mirror in a dingy motel room, hardly recognizing herself. Her usually sleek hair was teased into a messy style, dark makeup smudged around her eyes. She wore ripped jeans, a low-cut top, and a leather jacket that had seen better days.
Antonio entered the room, similarly transformed. His usual sharp suit was replaced by worn jeans and a faded t-shirt. He carried a small duffel bag, which he placed on the bed.
"Are you sure about this, Mrs. Cesaro?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.
Jasmine nodded, adjusting her jacket. "I'm sure. And Antonio, for this to work, you need to stop calling me Mrs. Cesaro. It's Jasmine, or better yet, use my cover name – Crystal."
Antonio nodded, a wry smile on his face. "Alright... Crystal. Your weapon is in the bag. Small caliber, easy to conceal."
Jasmine retrieved the gun, checking it with practiced ease before tucking it into her waistband. "Let's go. It's showtime."
