CHAPTER FIVE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY ONE – THE WORD OF THE DAY IS COLSOLIDATION
One particularly tense city council meeting found Jasmine facing off against Arnold Blackwood, the owner of the rival gallery.
"Ms. Reyes' so-called art studio is nothing more than a nuisance," Arnold declared to the council. "The noise, the crowds, the type of people it attracts - it's changing the character of our neighborhood, and not for the better."
Jasmine felt her blood boil at his thinly veiled prejudice. She stood up, addressing the council with barely contained anger.
"With all due respect, Mr. Blackwood's complaints are baseless and, frankly, discriminatory. Our studio has brought new life and economic activity to the area. We've worked closely with local businesses and residents to address any concerns. The 'type of people' we attract are diverse, creative individuals who contribute positively to our community."
