CHAPTER FIVE HUNDRED AND ELEVEN – STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE
As they moved off to their respective tasks, Jasmine let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. She wasn't used to taking charge like that, but something about the situation had brought out a strength she didn't know she possessed.
The next few hours passed in a blur of frustration and failed attempts. Kendra and Molly returned, dusty and discouraged, having seen no vehicles on the desolate stretch of road. Ian had no luck finding a working cell phone among the passengers. Marty, despite his best efforts, couldn't coax the bus back to life.
As the sun began to dip towards the horizon, painting the sky in brilliant shades of orange and pink, a new worry set in. Night was coming, and they were still stranded in the middle of nowhere.
