As he drove to the Bistro, Marco's mind raced. How could he tell Jasmine that she had to leave everything behind? That she had to flee to a foreign country, away from him, away from the life they'd built together?
The Bistro came into view, its warm lights a beacon in the growing darkness. Marco parked the car and sat for a moment, gathering his courage. Finally, he stepped out and made his way inside.
The restaurant was bustling with activity, the dinner rush in full swing. Marco scanned the room, his eyes finally landing on Jasmine. She was at the bar, laughing with a customer, her eyes sparkling in the soft light. Marco's heart clenched at the sight.
Jasmine looked up, her smile widening as she saw him. She excused herself and made her way over, wrapping her arms around him. "Hey, stranger. I was starting to think you'd forgotten about me."
