CHAPTER FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY TWO – DANGEROUS ADVANCES
The inspection was thorough and brutal. Every corner of the kitchen was scrutinized, every surface swabbed. By the end, the inspector had compiled a list of violations so long it seemed impossible.
"I'm sorry," she said, not sounding sorry at all, "but I have no choice but to shut you down until these issues are addressed."
As the inspector left, Jasmine turned to Marco, her face pale. "This isn't right," she whispered. "We've always been so careful."
Marco nodded grimly. "I know. This has Castillo written all over it."
Jasmine's jaw clenched. "I'm going to talk to him."
"Jasmine, no," Marco grabbed her arm. "It's too dangerous."
But Jasmine was already moving, her determination overriding her fear. She marched across the street to where Castillo still stood, watching the scene unfold with apparent amusement.
