Over the next few days, as Marco regained his strength, strange incidents continued to plague them. Their bungalow was ransacked while they were at dinner, though nothing of value was taken. The resort staff seemed oddly uninterested in investigating, brushing it off as a probable misunderstanding.
Jasmine found herself growing increasingly paranoid, jumping at shadows and questioning every interaction. The paradise they had dreamed of had become a nightmare of suspicion and fear.
One afternoon, as they lounged by the pool, Jasmine spotted Serena approaching. She tensed, nudging Marco.
