CHAPTER FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN – VINCENT’S GAMES
Over the next few days, Jasmine discovered that several of their suppliers had suddenly raised their prices or claimed they couldn't meet their orders. She knew Vincent was behind it, but proving it was another matter.
The final straw came when she overheard two of her workers discussing jumping ship to the Starlight project. Fury boiling inside her, Jasmine marched across the street to the rival construction site.
"Vincent!" she called out, spotting him near a trailer. "We need to talk."
He turned, that infuriating smile still in place. "Ms. Delacroix. What a pleasant surprise."
Jasmine didn't bother with pleasantries. "Cut the crap, Vincent. I know what you're doing. The rumors, the suppliers, trying to poach my workers. It stops now."
Vincent's smile didn't waver. "I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about. We're just running our business. If we happen to be more... competitive, well, that's just the market at work."
