"We did it," she said to Marco, a tired but triumphant smile on her face.
Marco pulled her into a quick hug. "You were amazing," he murmured. "I don't think I've ever seen the bistro shine like this."
Don Cesaro approached them, looking pleased. "Excellent work, both of you," he said. "The mayor was very impressed. I think we've made some valuable connections tonight."
As they began to discuss the evening's successes, Jasmine's phone buzzed in her clutch. She pulled it out, frowning at the unfamiliar number.
"Excuse me," she said to Marco and Don Cesaro. "I should take this."
She stepped away, answering the call. "Hello?"
"Jasmine? It's Harry." The voice on the other end was breathless, panicked.
Jasmine's blood ran cold. "Harry? What's wrong?"
"Listen to me carefully," Harry said, his voice low and urgent. "Ricci knows about the trap. He's furious. I've never seen him like this before."
Jasmine's grip tightened on her phone. "What do you mean? What's he planning?"
