CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY SEVEN – VILLAGE FEAST
As they walked through the village, Ana explained the significance of the feast. "Saint Anthony is the patron saint of lost things. Maybe he'll help you find your way!"
They stopped at a food stall where an older woman was frying something that smelled delicious.
"These are pastéis," Ana explained. "Try one!"
Lenny bit into the crispy pastry and his eyes widened. "Oh man, this is amazing! What's in it?"
Ana laughed. "That one? Hearts of palm and cheese. But be careful with the next one - it might be too spicy for you!"
As the evening progressed, Jasmine and Lenny found themselves drawn into the festivities. They tried their hand at traditional dances, laughing at their clumsy attempts to follow the intricate steps.
"You dance like a startled chicken!" an old man chuckled good-naturedly at Lenny's flailing arms.
Lenny took it in stride, bowing dramatically. "Thank you! I've been practicing my chicken dance for years!"
