CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FIVE – THE GREAT PARK
As they left the gym, Emily studied her friend's face. Despite the day's escapades, Jasmine still seemed downcast.
"Alright," Emily said suddenly. "I've got one more idea."
Jasmine looked at her warily. "Please, no more physical activities. I don't think my pride can take another hit."
Emily shook her head. "No, nothing like that. There's this park I've heard about, in the next town over. It's supposed to be incredibly beautiful and peaceful. What do you say we take a little road trip?"
Jasmine hesitated. The thought of more activity was daunting, but something in Emily's hopeful expression made her relent. "Okay," she sighed. "But this is the last thing, alright?"
Emily beamed. "Promise! Let's go pack a small bag and catch the bus. We'll make a day of it!"
An hour later, they were at the bus station, bags packed with snacks and a picnic blanket. Emily bounced on her toes, excitement radiating from her.
