CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FIVE – UNEXPECTED AID
Before she could explain further, a gaggle of excited whispers erupted around her.
"Cor, would you look at that? The sheila from the telly!"
"Didn't think we'd find a celebrity in our neck of the woods!"
"Say, love, you need any help tracking down your bloke?"
Jasmine found herself suddenly swarmed, a sea of eager faces and proffered suggestions washing over her.
"He can't have gone far, not with those Hollywood looks of his!"
"Have you tried the beach? Blokes love the beach!"
"Or the pub? Fellas can't resist a cold brew, am I right?"
Jasmine's head spun as she tried to keep up with the rapid-fire advice, her polite attempts at clarification drowned out by the enthusiastic chorus.
"Everyone, please!" she finally managed, her voice cutting through the clamor. "I'm not a celebrity, I'm just a regular tourist whose husband got separated from me. I'm desperate to find him."
A hush fell over the group as they processed her words, their expressions ranging from crestfallen to sheep
