CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THREE – THEIR DISASTROUS SEAFOOD DINNER
Their eyes locked, and suddenly the magnitude of what they had just endured together washed over Jasmine in a warm wave. She was inexplicably drawn to this man who had quite literally put his life in her hands without a second thought.
The nurse poked her head in again with an apologetic smile. "I'm so sorry, but we need to get Mr. Ramsay settled into a room for monitoring overnight. I'll have to ask you to come back tomorrow."
Jasmine blinked, jolted out of the charged moment between them. "Oh! Yes, of course. I'll just..." She gestured vaguely, unsure what else to say.
In the days following their disastrous seafood dinner turned ER visit, Jasmine waited with bated breath for Tom to make contact. Surely after she'd quite literally saved his life, there would be a follow-up date, or at the very least some token of appreciation.
But the radio silence was deafening. No texts, no calls, no efforts to reconnect whatsoever. Just...nothing.
