After lunch, Marcus drove Helen to her apartment complex. Unloading everything her parents had packed for her was no small task. Helen borrowed a small cart from the security guard to help with the load.
The guard joked, "I thought you were running a supply business."
"It's all from my parents."
"Is the guy helping you your boyfriend?"
"No, just a friend."
Marcus wouldn't let Helen carry much, insisting, "You don't need to do anything. I've got this."
Dragging her suitcase along, she relented. "Alright, fine."
As Marcus pressed the elevator button, he couldn't resist teasing her now and then. Helen, trying to avoid him, nearly bumped into someone stepping out of the elevator. She shot Marcus a glare. "Behave yourself!"
They stepped into the elevator, one after the other. As the doors closed, Julien emerged from the shadows nearby, lighting a cigarette. The smoke curled around his face, blurring the expression on his sharp features.
