"I'm just running a small business and want to focus on it. Please stop bothering me, both you and Ms. Green," Shelmaine said, firm in her stance.
She had already admitted fault regarding the incident with Felicity and had formally apologized to Natasha. Natasha had won that battle.
As for leaving South Haven, it was out of the question. Her career and friends were here. Shelmaine had no reason to leave just because she divorced Samuel.
"Did Natasha say those things to you?" Samuel's voice was cold and emotionless. It was as if, no matter what Natasha had said or done, he would protect her to the end.
"Yes. She said them. If you don't believe me, that's your problem. I don't need to speak ill of her."
"I'm sorry. If she really said those things, I apologize on her behalf," Samuel apologized.
But Shelmaine found his apology ironic. Was he so devoted to Natasha that he would defend her no matter what she did?
