CHAPTER EIGHTY-SIX - TURNING THE TIDE
Mara wrapped up the conference and made her way through the crowd, journalists still shouting questions. She reached Cassius, who immediately pulled her into a supportive embrace.
"You were amazing," he murmured.
But before Mara could respond, Clarissa's saccharine voice cut in. "Yes, quite the performance, dear. Though I do wonder how long you can keep up this charade."
Mara turned to face her nemesis, steel in her voice. "This isn't a charade, Clarissa. And your games won't work anymore. We know you were behind the leak."
Clarissa's smirk didn't falter. "Prove it," she said softly, before turning on her heel and sauntering away.
Mara watched her go, a mix of anger and determination coursing through her. She turned back to Cassius, ready to discuss their next move, but froze when she saw him looking at his phone, a frown on his face.
"What is it?" she asked.
