CHAPTER THIRTY NINE –WHAT TO DO WITH LOVE

As Cassius excused himself to take a phone call, Mara busied herself with arranging the new bedding, trying to calm her racing heart. She knew she was treading on dangerous ground. Her attraction to Cassius was growing stronger by the day, and moments like this only made it harder to ignore. But what could she do? Pursuing a relationship with him would be professional suicide. And yet, the thought of squashing these feelings, of pretending there was nothing between them, felt equally impossible. As she smoothed out a wrinkle in the silk duvet, Mara made a decision.
