CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY EIGHT – PRE WEDDING JITTERS
The next morning dawned bright and clear, but the atmosphere in the Noble mansion was anything but sunny. Mara and Cassius sat at the breakfast table, picking at their food and discussing their limited options in hushed tones.
Clarissa Noble swept into the room, impeccably dressed despite the early hour. She paused, taking in the gloomy faces of her brother and future sister-in-law.
"Good lord, who died?" she quipped, pouring herself a cup of coffee.
Cassius sighed, running a hand through his already disheveled hair. "No one died, Clarissa. We're just having a bit of a... catering crisis."
Clarissa raised an eyebrow, settling into a chair across from them. "Catering crisis? Two days before the wedding? Do tell."
As Mara and Cassius explained the situation, Clarissa's expression shifted from curiosity to concern to determination.
"Well, this simply won't do," she declared as they finished. "We can't have the social event of the season derailed by a faulty refrigerator."
