CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY ONE - UNWELCOME GUESTS
The grand entrance of Sebastian Noble's mansion loomed before Mara and Clarissa, its imposing facade a testament to generations of wealth and power. Mara's eyes widened as she took in the ornate details of the structure, from the intricately carved stone columns to the gleaming brass fixtures that adorned the massive oak doors.
"Well," Clarissa breathed, her usual composure momentarily shaken, "I guess Uncle Sebastian doesn't believe in subtlety."
Mara nodded, still struggling to find words. "It's... it's like something out of a movie."
As they approached the entrance, the doors swung open, revealing a distinguished older gentleman with silver hair and piercing blue eyes that sparkled with warmth. "Clarissa, my dear!" he exclaimed, arms outstretched. "And this must be the lovely Mara I've heard so much about. Welcome, welcome!"
Clarissa stepped forward, embracing her uncle. "Uncle Sebastian, it's been far too long."
"Indeed it has," Sebastian agreed, turning his attention to Mara.
