Zachary didn't leave the hospital. He remained in the ward, exuding an air of cold, noble authority.
Cynthia, on the other hand, felt utterly uncomfortable. She wanted to come up with an excuse to make him leave, but she had no idea how to say it.
In the silence, the atmosphere between the two grew strangely awkward.
Finally, Zachary broke the tension. "Do you have any other injuries? If you need a private doctor or therapist, just say the word."
Cynthia couldn't help but wonder why she needed a private doctor and a therapist. Did he think that she was so timid that she had been traumatized by this incident?
Cynthia shook her head. "I'm fine."
His gaze deepened. He clearly thought she was just putting on a brave face. He stood up and said, "Don't overthink it. I've already asked Jesse to handle it. Take some time alone."
Zachary rarely comforted anyone, and this was his first attempt. Without waiting for a response, he turned and left, giving her the privacy to cry.
