Chapter 8

She pulled his arm before letting him sit on the sofa. Silently his wife sat down. She moved a little to leave some space between them. "Didn't you really force them to come back? You should offer them something," he said softly. Trigger massaged his head slowly. "They didn't listen to me. I couldn't stop them because they told me that they have decided already." "Your project is helpful, Trigger. Many people are looking for a job and your project can help them. But many people will also be affected by what you do," the girl explained. "You don't understand me. That project can help those people also. I'll give them money to find a new house somewhere. And if you're worried about their jobs, I'll offer them a job also!" the man replied angrily. She sighed heavily. "By the way, eh. Why are investors mad at you?" "They can't trust me. They kept on saying that those people are not qualified for the job I'll offer to them. Everyone's telling me not to continue this project, but I planned this for almost one year and I never want to throw it because I trust my self. Seeing those board members' reaction a while ago. I don't know what to do to convince them anymore. Even my brothers doesn't want to help me. " Trigger pulled himself up after saying that. Miracle placed her one hand on Trigger's back. He lightly patted his wife's back to let her know that he was not alone. "I believe in you. They'll understand your intentions soon once you talk to them. Baut for now, I believe in you, Trigger." Slowly the man looked up. "What?" Miracle quickly removed her hand from the man's back. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have touch you--" "You still believe in me even if those people are badmouthing me?" The woman blinked. "I'm married to you, Trigger. I'm not married to them so I'll believe in you." Miracle stood up. "Also don't frown anymore." She smiled sweetly before opening the lights. "Happy birthday!" Creased when Trigger looked at him. "Birthday? What are you talking about? My birthday's on October 13." Miracle quickly pointed to the digital calendar. "It's October 13." Trigger's eyes widened when he saw the calendar. He rubbed his whole face. "Fuck, I didn't even realize that." The man removed his hand from his face before looking back at him. "You woke up to greet me?" Miracle nodded her head before walking closer to the painting she had been carrying earlier. She removed the cover before showing it to Trigger. "Good!" Trigger's eyes were stuck on her painting. Its gaze was not removed from its own portrait. "What's that? It's my picture, oh shit, why am I fucking smiling there? I never smiled in a camera--" "I painted it," Miracle cutted him off. She frowned when the man turned to her. It stood to take a closer look at the painting. "This is your art?" She smiled before nodding her head. "I never see you smiling that's why you're smiling here. You're stunned, are you amazed at yourself or my work?" he asked. Trigger immediately removed the amazement from his face. He frowned. "No, it's ugly." Miracle glanced at her painting. "It's beautiful." Trigger pointed out the small drip of paint on the side. "It's messy. I don't like it." The woman frowned at what her husband had pointed out. "It's just a drip of paint. It's not even messy. 'Then you're smiling here, you're so handsome--" "No. I don't like it. If you really love this painting then you can keep it inside our room. But me?" Trigger roamed his eyes on the painting again, trying to hide the amusement in his eyes. "I hate it. Keep it if you love it too much. But it's not even that beautiful." He was about to leave when Miracle held his wrist again. "Wait, it's not over yet." She pulled her husband, dragging him to the kitchen. He turned on the light and immediately the two of them opened the prepared food. In the middle is a large cake that he himself baked. "Why is there so much food in here?" he asked her. "We'll celebrate your birthday. Or if you don't want me near." Miracle stepped slightly away from the wife. "I'll give you space if you don't want me near. Just eat." He rolled his eyes before sitting on the dining area. Miracle didn't notice the shock in her eyes when her husband sat down in front of the food. This is the first time that Trigger will taste the food she cooked. She wanted to cry in happiness but it's not the right time for that. Miracle placed the plate and utensils in front of Trigger. She was about to serve him but he stopped her by holding her wrist. "I can move. Come with me. I hate eating alone." Although the woman was shocked, she chose to follow her husband. "Ahm, where will I sit? Here?" She pointed to the chair that's five meters away from Trigger. He tsked at her. "Beside me. Hurry up, you're making me mad." Miracle didn't say anything. He just sat in the chair to the left of the wife and started taking food. She can't help but to stare at her husband who's now eating the food she cooked. It used to be just his dream. But now, it's happening. She couldn't believe her own eyes. MIRACLE pouted her lips while staring at the painting. He left his wife in the dining room for a while because she was still busy washing her hands. Trigger doesn't like her art so she's planning to throw it away. He will just do something new again, just in case his wife likes it. She carried it and was about to throw it outside when Trigger saw her. "What are you going to do with it?" wrinkled when his wife asked. "I'll throw it away, you said I'll throw it away--" "No!" its cry. But he also calmed down immediately when he saw her reaction. "I mean, you can keep it if you want it. I just don't find it beautiful, but you keep fucking keep it." Miracle shook her head. "I don't want to keep a failure that's why I'm going to throw it away." "No," Trigger replied sternly. "Why? I thought you didn't like it?" wrinkled when Miracle asked. "It's ..." The man's eyes rolled. He opened his mouth like he's about to say something, but his forehead immediately wrinkled as if he was still angry. "It's beautiful." Miracle stood there, surprised and speechless. He just watched his wife rush up the stairs. "It's beautiful?" she uttered while looking at her art.
