Tristan & Evelyn: Riding To Her Rescue
Tristan gazed at Evelyn’s retreating silhouette, a cigarette in hand.
He lit it with a flick of his lighter, but instead of taking a drag, he let it burn.
The taste of her still lingered in his mouth, and he didn’t want the smoke to overpower that alluring essence.
After a while, the waitress from before approached, wearing a flattering smile. ‘Sir, your wine is here.’
‘Give it to Evelyn,’ Tristan replied.
‘Huh?’
‘Just give me the bill.’
Tristan signed the cheque without looking.

Leaving the noisy dance floor, Evelyn walked alone to the back door of the bar.
In the dimly lit alley, she squatted on the ground and let her tears flow freely.
She cried for a long time until her eyes stung from the tears.
Touching her slightly swollen lips, she felt a sense of absurdity.
In her younger days, she had dreamt of Tristan kissing her, but despite all her efforts, she could never get close to him.
