Nothing To Hide
‘Without d—the D word,’ I swallowed the word at Kieran’s pinch, ‘how are we going to deal with your grandma?’
‘She’s just bluffing. Grandma survived a famine, a drought, a bloody civil war. She’s not going to off herself over something as trivial as a rumour.’
‘You and I both know it’s not a rumour.’
‘Be that as it may, she’s a tough old bird. Don’t worry about her.’
‘What about the disinheritance? The V Group?’
‘I don’t have to stay in the family business to put bread on the table. As for the V Group…’ He shrugged. ‘It was doing well before I came along. It will continue to do well without me.’
His hand stole towards the small of my back, danced lower.
I wasn’t a hundred per cent convinced.
He was making it sound like no big deal, when in reality, it was a BFD—a big freaking deal.
‘But what are you going to do if you get kicked out of the company?’ I couldn’t stop worrying. ‘What if you—hey!’
He pinched my ass and grinned.
‘Knock it off, horndog.’
His hand slithered between my thighs.
