CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY THREE - Setting the Stage
Rebecca laughed so hard she nearly dropped her hammer. The mental image of dignified square dancers scattering before a determined pig was too much to resist.
As the day progressed, Rebecca found herself drawn into more and more aspects of the fair preparation. She helped Lily set up a booth for a traditional craft display, marveling at the intricate quilts and handmade toys that would be on show.
"This is amazing," Rebecca said, running her hand over a particularly beautiful quilt. "I had no idea there was so much talent in such a small town."
Lily beamed with pride. "Oh, we're full of surprises! Wait until you see the talent show. We've got everything from yodeling to juggling chainsaws!"
Rebecca's eyes widened. "Juggling chainsaws? Please tell me you're joking."
Lily just winked, leaving Rebecca to wonder what other surprises the fair might hold.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the fairgrounds, Martha called everyone together for a progress meeting. Rebecca
