CHAPTER TWENTY TWO – HER HERO

Rebecca's heart soared as she recognized Luca's voice. Jack spun around, still gripping Rebecca's arm. Luca stood at the mouth of the alley, his usually carefree expression replaced by cold fury. "I said, let her go. Now." Jack sneered. "This is none of your business. Walk away if you know what's good for you." Luca's eyes narrowed. He took a step forward. "Last chance. Let. Her. Go." Jack shoved Rebecca aside, causing her to stumble and fall against the rough brick wall. He turned to face Luca, fists raised. "You want her? Come and get her," Jack taunted. Luca didn't hesitate. He moved with a speed and grace that took Rebecca's breath away. Before Jack could even throw a punch, Luca had closed the distance between them. Jack swung wildly, but Luca easily dodged the clumsy attack. In one fluid motion, Luca grabbed Jack's outstretched arm and used the man's momentum against him, flipping him onto his back.
