The morning sun cast a golden glow over the city skyline, but the atmosphere in Lucas and Chloe's penthouse was anything but bright.
They sat at the kitchen table, the remnants of breakfast untouched. The phone call from Jack had shattered their newfound peace, replacing it with a cold dread.
