In Starbucks, Ivy sat opposite Sterling, mustering an awkward smile. "Ivy's all grown up now," Sterling remarked, sipping his coffee and smiling warmly at Ivy. The crinkles by his eyes piled up, endearing him to Ivy even more.
"Yes," Ivy nodded obediently, her mind swirling with thoughts of the contract.
Sterling, a seasoned veteran of the business world with an eye for detail, immediately noticed Ivy's distraction. "Is this contract your responsibility?"
Upon Ivy's confirmation, Sterling picked up the document from the table and scrutinized it carefully. "How are you faring at The Warrington Group?" he inquired, genuinely concerned about the impact of Yvette's passing on Ivy.
Ivy's smile twitched unnaturally, "It's good. Cecil... uh, Mr. Warrington, takes good care of me."
"That's reassuring," Sterling nodded.
Just as Ivy was about to delve into the contract's details, Sterling had already signed it. "Uncle Quinlan, you..." Ivy stuttered, taking the signed contract from Sterling
