Chapter 89 Can't Get A Divorce
Calvin protested, "Grandpa, why can't I—"
"Leave," Albert said firmly.
His voice carried a note of anger, so Calvin didn't dare defy him. He glanced at me, then at his grandfather, before silently leaving the study.
As soon as the door closed behind him, I turned to look at Albert. "Grandpa, didn't we agree on this?"
We had come to an understanding that he would support my divorce without making things difficult for me. But now, his words had left me baffled.
It was as if he expected me to act like some feudal lady of the house to oversee my husband's mistress. Not that Emily could ever hope to qualify for that.
"We did agree, but things have changed." Albert sighed. He seemed to have aged significantly as he massaged his temples.
He continued, "Summer, you're a wonderful woman. What Calvin did was indeed wrong, and he has been reckless these past years."
