Lyra's voice was almost breaking on the other end of the line. "Summer, where are you? Can you get to the police station?
"Ms. Myer's been arrested. They say she's a prime suspect — her old company reported her.
"Everyone saw it happen, so what are we going to do? They're all saying Ms. Myer is going to be fired."
A wave of shock hit me. I pushed past the dizziness clouding my thoughts and managed to flag down a cab.
By the time I arrived at the police station, I felt a bit better, though the light-headedness lingered.
Dylan spotted me and hurried over to help. "Did you go to the hospital?"
I nodded, not bothering to pretend otherwise.
Dylan casually plucked a stray lock of hair from my shoulder, and I knew the hair loss was starting again.
It wasn't something I could keep hidden much longer. He tossed the hair into a nearby trash can and gently guided me to a seat.
