Chapter 59 Humiliation
I felt a cold liquid flowing into my veins through my right hand, accompanied by the familiar scent of disinfectant. I realized I was in a hospital.
The strain of worrying about Queenie must have worn me down, leaving my body even weaker. I'd been having frequent nosebleeds and fainting spells. No wonder the doctor insisted that I needed someone with me at all times. Without Queenie, I might not even know how many times I could have died.
I only noticed Queenie asleep beside me when I opened my eyes. As I tried to reach for some water, someone swiftly twisted off the bottle cap and passed it to me.
"You're awake? How are you feeling?" Dylan's hand gently rested on my forehead, the warmth of his touch soothing some of my dizziness.
I felt a bit more alive after taking a big gulp of water.
Queenie suddenly jerked her head up, her hair in disarray. "Summer, why did you faint again? Why haven't you been eating properly lately?"
