Chapter 22 You Disgust Me
I had a passing familiarity with the supplier. We weren't particularly close, but they had done business with Pierce Group a couple of times before.
When I walked into the president's office in Sheridan Group, it was obvious that Jared Sheridan was on edge.
He barely glanced up as he blew on his coffee and said, "Ms. Jefferson, what an unexpected visit. Is your company less busy now? Our little office is quite modest, and I'm afraid it might not be up to the standards of Pierce Group."
I knew this problem was, in fact, Pierce Group's fault, so I didn't push too hard. If I'd learned anything over the years, it was the value of humility in dealing with business partners. Sometimes, being a woman in this industry could work to my advantage.
The fact that Jared was still in the office after hours made it clear he'd been waiting for someone from Pierce Group. After all, they were the only ones who could deliver what we needed on short notice.
