“Wow,” Lara said looking around. “Who would have thought there was something like this in here?”
They were standing at the head of a small flight of steps that descended into the room itself which was dimly lit with glowing runes etched into the walls.
A mystical aura pervaded the air and that was saying something considering the entire temple itself was magical.
Shelves lined the room but they were curiously mostly empty. In the centre of the room, a shimmering pool lay reflecting the starlit ceiling.
“This looks like the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.” Gavadiol finally managed to say after they had gazed in silent wonder for a while. He went down the steps lightly and turned to look up at Lara who still remained unmoving.
“Well, come on. Let's have a look.”
“I wonder who put all these things back here,” Lara said speculatively. “Maybe that bad man Nordveka.”
She strode to the shelves carefully to give the pool a wide gap. There was no telling how deep it could be. It migh
