Erom cast a discreet sideways look at Kelley. The boy was still staring morosely into the fire considering his sorry state and completely unaware that anything was even out there.
“Kelley,” He said quietly.
Something in his quiet tone made the lad look up.
“Your first lesson as a woodsman.” Erom said quietly. “Never be too engrossed in your own self that you fail to take note of the surroundings. There is something out there. Our fire is bright and plain so thre’s no use hiding. Pull out your sword, keep it close and act normal. It might be nothing yet. But if it turns out to be something, then we will defend ourselves.”
