"Suicide is never and should never be an option, Marie. What even made you think of doing that? Of all things, suicide should never cross your mind," Crystal said, disappointment clear on her face as she stood with her hands on her hips.
"I've heard you, but what would you have me do?" I replied calmly.
"I don't know what it feels like to be in your shoes, but I do know everything that's going on—unless there are things you're not telling me. Still, I'll say this: suicide is not the answer," she said firmly.
I let out a dry, sarcastic laugh. Her words sounded too absurd. She claimed to know everything, yet she spoke as though there was another way out of this mess.
"We'll figure something out. You won't die, you can't die, Marie," she said with such certainty that it was almost like she had the antidote herself.
"You can never be so sure. All I'm saying is that I'm no longer afraid of death. If it wants to come, it can take me already. I just hope it won't be painful," I sa
