Chapter 135: Failed Date

I paced around the room when the headlight of Crystal’s car shone brightly through the windows. “That’s early,” I said to myself, rushing down to open the door.
“Welcome back; how did the date go?” I said, ushering her inside. She brushed past me, hung her coat, and ran her hands through her hair.
“I’m guessing not too good,” I said, trying to lighten the mood.
“He stood me up, but the food at the restaurant was great. The scenery was amazing, too, and it was jazz night, a combo of good food and great music.
“Oh, my goodness, I’m so sorry about that. He must be a very foolish and miserable man to stand a damsel up; he’s badly behaved, and trust me when I say you deserve better than that scum of the earth.” I said, hoping to encourage her.
“Did you make anything? I’m still hungry, you know, fancy restaurants and their small portions. How’s the baby? Is it asleep?” She parroted; she didn’t seem to have a care in the world about her failed date.
